Parents: Your Child Can Be an NYC Producer!
Here's How...

The Whimsical World of Sherlock Holmes & The Page to Stage Experience

The Whimsical World of Sherlock Holmes was selected to be part of the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival, performing at Theatre Row on 42nd Street - now rescheduled for September 6-October 3, 2021.

As New York re-opens, and the theatre district comes alive once more with a new vibrant energy…we will be there! And now, you -- as well as any young folks you know with an interest in theatre -- can be there too in many exciting ways!

New York theatre was once only financed by big players with deep pockets. Thankfully, the model is changing and now anyone can be a producer...including your children!

Give Your Children the Experience of a Lifetime!

The Page to Stage Program is an unprecented opportunity for children to be involved in the entire production process, and learn about every single aspect of producing a show Off-Broadway. They will even have the opportunity to give direct input into the production. That's right - your children will be Off-Broadway Producers! Through a dedicated special website, they will get a behind-the-scenes look at the full production process, starting immediately!

How Does It Work?

Playwright Marney Makridakis (and special guests!) holds Biweekly Producer Meetings on Zoom to dive into the topic of the month, and give kids the opportunity to ask questions, and give input!  These meetings are currently scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, at 11:00am (and will be recorded)

Here is a quick preview of a Producer Meeting -- where kids offer input on a key component of script rewrites:

In addition, participants also have access to a private online hub will serve as the spot for all updates and interactive opportunities... truly an exceptional chance for kids to feel empowered as they recognize their role in this entire process!  Access to things like:
  • videos
  • Q&A
  • feedback polls
  • script storyboards
  • song demo recordings
  • virtual readings with professional actors
  • creative team meetings
  • brainstorming sessions
  • live interactive interviews
  • And - next summer - streaming videos to give them a fun, inside look at work and play on the vibrant streets all around Times Square and New York City with live interviews with the actors of the show and all the other professionals working to make it all happen!

Each month has a different focus and new opportunities for direct input from kids.   We've already covered things like rewrites, production team, social impact, lighting design.  Here's what is coming up:
  • APRIL 2021: Virtual Readings
  • MAY 2021: Hiring Creative Team (professionals in NYC)
  • JUNE 2021: Auditions (casting professional actors in NYC)
  • JULY 2021: Rehearsals (in NYC)
  • AUGUST 2021: Final Rehearsals in NYC...come along via streaming video!
  • SEPTEMBER 2021: Showtime...with streaming video access, kids will be right in the epicenter of the Theatre world, helping develop and call the shots on a brand new acclaimed musical!

Suggested Donation

By being part of the Broadway Bound Festival, several of the largest budget lines are covered (theatre space, insurance, consultants) - and we are now raising money for the remaining budget, approximately $15,000.  We've created The Page to Stage Experience to crowdfund the production in a way that goes above and beyond the usual donation perks --offering your family a deeply immersive experience!

The suggested donation for The Page to Stage Experience is a minimum contribution of $100 which gives your entire family – no matter how many children you have -- full access to The Page to Stage Experience for 9 months...from June 1 through Closing Night in February.

Where else can you get this kind of value in an immersive educational program spanning  12 months? You can even make a monthly payment plan for as little as $10 a month.  This is a tax-deductible donation that directly benefits your children with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Simply make your Family Donation below to get started!  And if you need to split your donation into monthly payments, you can select an amount that is comfortable for you -- $13, $20, or $30 - and select the option to make a monthly donation.
